Mourning the passing of Tony Geiss

Tony delighted and nurtured generations of viewers of “Sesame Street,” where he worked for nearly 40 years, winning 22 Emmys for both script-writing and song-writing. <br /><br />In addition to a long list of television-writing accomplishments and awards, Tony co-wrote three films with Judy Freudberg: "Sesame Street Presents: Follow That Bird," "An American Tail," and the story for "The Land Before Time." <br />Sesame Workshop, formerly the Children’s Television Workshop, stated, “Tony's brilliant words, his sense of humor, his musical virtuosity, and his respect for children in this country and around the world, brought laughter, love and learning together for generations.
