A Conversation with WGAE President Michael Winship

Writers Guild of America, East President Michael Winship, senior writer of Bill Moyers Journal, will be the featured guest at WXXI-TV’s A Conversation with Michael Winship on Saturday, April 17th. The event, which is part of the public broadcasting station’s fund-raising/membership drive, will recognize Bill Moyers Journal, which ends its three-year run on PBS at the end of this month. Michael is a native of Canandaigua , NY , near WXXI’s Rochester , NY , headquarters, and the station says his appearance is “a gift to Bill Moyers Journal viewers.”

Peter Iglinski, WXXI-TV’s senior correspondent, will lead the free-ranging conversation with Michael, which will touch on his career in public television, his role as WGAE President, the successful 2007-2008 WGA strike, the state of journalism today, and other political and media issues. A question and answer session will follow. More than 100 people have already signed up to attend. We know they will enjoy hearing Michael’s insights and stories.
