WGAE Digital Training Seminar

November 3, 2010

We have created a partnership with Manhattan Neighborhood Network, the public access broadcasting organization in NYC, in order to provide more training seminars in digital technology.

Three classes will be offered initially:  Camera Basics (operation, composition, field production basics), Basic Final Cut Pro (Mac basics, basic editing, audio techniques) and Advanced Final Cut Pro (advanced editing, effects, filters, composition).

These classes will meet two afternoons per week, for three weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Participants are expected to attend all sessions.  If you are interested in applying for a place in one of the classes, you must first attend an orientation session on Wednesday, November 3rd from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Manhattan Neighborhood Network’s offices, 537 West 59th Street.  Those attending the orientation will receive a follow-up questionnaire no later than Monday, November 8th and then within ten (10) days following that, notification of whether or not you have been accepted into one of the classes.  Registration is limited to eight (8) students per class.  For this reason, we may not be able to accommodate everyone in the first round of classes.  We hope to be able to offer additional classes early next year and we hope to accommodate all interested members going forward.

We thank The Actors Fund Work Program for helping us create this partnership with Manhattan Neighborhood Network.  The Actors Fund Work Program provides valuable services to the WGAE membership such as career counseling and coaching, all of which will be described in more detail at the orientation on November 3.

If you are interested in attending the orientation session, please RSVP to training@remove-this.wgaeast.org.  Please call Rebecca Olerich at 212-767-7835 with any questions.
