Broadcast News, Digital News and the BP Spill: A Panel

Case Study: How are both broadcast and online media handling the BP oil spill in the Gulf? Join us on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 7-9 PM.

June 30, 2010

If you read James Fallows’ recent article, “How to Save the News,” in The Atlantic (June 2010),  you may wonder where the entire news business is headed.   The transformation of broadcast news to digital news is upon us, but how pronounced is this transformation and how sustainable is it?  Examine how writers and various media outlets cover the BP crisis in the Gulf as the framework for this discussion.  Join both broadcast and digital writers, documentarians, bloggers and other veterans and innovators of new media to explore the implications for writers and media providers.
