Writers Guild of America, East Announces Council Candidates For 2014 Election

NEW YORK, NY (JULY 1, 2014) – The Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE) announced today the 2014 nominees for its Council election. The term is for two years from 2014-2016.

In this election, there are 10 open Council seats (seven Freelance seats and three Staff seats).

The 16 candidates for the seven open Freelance seats are:

  • Timothy Cooper
  • Marin Gazzaniga
  • Jo Miller
  • Beau Willimon
  • John Marshall
  • John Auerbach
  • Chris Kyle
  • Richard Vetere
  • Walter Bernstein
  • Kyle Bradstreet
  • George Strayton
  • Oren Moverman
  • Jenny Lumet
  • Andrea Ciannavei
  • Danielle Paige
  • Terry George

The four candidates for the three open Staff seats are:

  • Cath Twohill
  • Gail Lee
  • Kathy McGee
  • Patrick Mason

Please note: The order of listing candidates is determined by a drawing of candidates’ names by lot, conducted by two members with a WGAE staff member acting as witness.

WGAE members can vote in this Council election beginning Wednesday, August 27, through Thursday, September 18. The results will be announced on Friday, September 19.

The WGAE does not endorse or recommend any candidates for Guild office.
