Midnight in Barcelona

Woody Allen's first ever film in Spain could be called Midnight in Barcelona, according to the writer-director, who is notoriously private about his forthcoming movies. "It's the first title I picked but it's possible that it changes," he told Spanish reporters as he was scouting locations for the film, which will begin production next month. Starring Javier Bardem, Penélope Cruz and Scarlett Johansson, Midnight in Barcelona will be the first of two films shot in Spain.

In addition to filming in Barcelona, Allen will be shooting some scenes in the northern city of Oviedo. He was reportedly scouting locations following a secret premiere of his latest film, Cassandra's Dream, in nearby Aviles. About 600 people got a sneak peek of the movie, starring Ewan McGregor, Tom Wilkinson and Colin Farrell, which is scheduled for an official premiere at the Venice Film Festival later this year.
