Canteen Action at ABC, Washington DC

Once again, as in New York, the executives did not respond to the invitation (below). At the action, Guild and NABET members marched on managers Jane Aylor, Robin Sproul, Glennwood Branch and Jeff Corwin, to ask why they didn't attend.

Subject: Join Us for a Coffee Break

Dear Bob, Ann, David, Jane, Jeff, Robin and Glennwood:

The members of the Writers Guild of America, East and the National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians cordially invite you and the rest of our ABC/Disney colleagues for coffee and discussion on Thursday, July 12, at 3:30PM in the ABC canteen on the 7th Floor in Washington, D.C. Since all of you are ultimately responsible for the stance of our contract negotiations, we look forward to a lively discussion in hopes of gaining a better understanding of the motivations behind your contract proposals. We had hoped to meet with a few of you in New York a couple of weeks ago, but none of you attended our gathering nor responded to our invitation.

We are delighted to be such an important part of ABC/Disney's ability to shine financially, especially in the past two years when ratings have soared, and to be part of the overall ABC/Disney workforce. Together we are responsible for making ABC and Disney the very best.

We look forward to discussing our futures, on behalf of our families and ourselves, with all of you.
