New Option for Uninsured Members: Working America Health Care

The Writers Guild of America, East has partnered with Working America Health Care and Union Plus to assist members in obtaining individual health insurance. Working America is an AFL-CIO sponsored advocacy group that offers this service to help you find the best and most affordable health insurance, sign up for a plan and take advantage of any tax credits and subsidies you may be entitled to receive through the Affordable Care Act (ACA) exchange. You’ll also benefit from a personalized health advocate service that can help you coordinate care and answer your coverage, claims and clinical questions.

Working America has set up a special hotline (888.686.4254) just for WGAE members, where you will connect with a health care navigator who will take you through these steps. There is no cost to use this service. Any WGAE member can call today.

Learn more here. Special enrollment for health insurance has already begun, and open enrollment for health insurance through Working America begins on November 15.

If you have trouble accessing the service, please contact WGAE Events Coordinator & Union Plus Benefits Administrator, Nancy Hathorne (; 212.767.7812).
