WGIThe Writers Guild Initiative (WGI) has named Bo Shim of New York University as recipient of its 2016 Michael Collyer Memorial Fellowship in Screenwriting.

The fellowship, which is funded by the Charles and Lucille King Family Foundation, is awarded to a student who plans to pursue a career in screenwriting upon completion of his/her undergraduate course of study. Shim will receive a $10,000 stipend to write an original screenplay.  She will be presented with her fellowship at the 68th annual Writers Guild Awards on Saturday, February 13 in New York City at the Edison Ballroom.

Shim’s fellowship project, entitled Sister of a Goddess, focuses on two Nepalese sisters – Manna and Aarti – and the family bonds that bind them and pull them apart as one is chosen to be the next Royal Kumari of Kathmandu.
