The writers of many of cable’s top shows—from Breaking Bad to Treme to Caprica are Writers Guild members earning Guild benefits for their work.

In 2007, the writers of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report stood together to demand fair and just treatment and won a WGA contract. By coming together, Comedy Central writers joined many other cable show writers who are enjoying higher rates, healthcare, pension, and residual payments. You, too, can win these benefits through a Guild contract.

If the production company you work for is not yet a Guild signatory, reach out to our Organizing Department so we can learn more, together. The decision about whether or not you can join the Guild on the show you are working for is, in fact, your decision. Contact the Organizing Department at 212-767-7808.
