Faculty Position in Screenwriting in the Kanbar Graduate Film Program
The Kanbar Graduate Film Program at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts is searching to fill a full-time position on the (non-tenure) Assistant Arts Professor track in screenwriting that will commence with the 2018 / 2019 academic year.
Candidates should have an on-going career as a screenwriter of produced narrative films and/or a significant body of work as a screenwriter of television in drama and/or comedy.
In addition to a significant body of professional creative work, the candidate should be prepared to participate fully in the program as well as in other functions of the University, as required.
While teaching experience at the university level is preferred, the demonstrable capacity to translate one’s professional experience into dynamic teaching is also acceptable. Evidence of artistic achievement is also required. Faculty members will teach 5 courses per year, (generally assigned as 3 in one semester and 2 in the other semester), advise graduate students, and participate in departmental and/or school-wide committees. Ongoing professional work is encouraged and expected.
Salary, to be negotiated, includes an excellent benefits package. Finalists will be asked to submit creative work.
For full details and information on how to apply, please visit: http://tisch.nyu.edu/faculty/faculty-positions. You will need to submit a cover letter stating your interest and expertise and a curriculum vitae. Please include complete mailing address, phone and email contact information. Three letters of recommendation are also required, at least one of which should be from an academic (not industry) recommender. The letters should include contact information for each recommender in order to facilitate the possibility of additional inquiries.
APPLICATIONS ARE DUE NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 1, 2017 AT NOON (EST).
