(June 23) Inter-Guild Master Class with Gale Anne Hurd
The PGA Atlanta Women’s Impact Network presents
An Inter-Guild Master Class Event
with Gale Anne Hurd
With women of the PGA, DGA, WGA, and Local 600
Saturday, June 23rd
1:00pm – 3:00pm
Light lunch & drinks will be served.
This event is free.
Join us for a special Inter-Guild Networking and Master Class with PGA Producer Gale Anne Hurd. Ms. Hurd will offer insight on pitching, story development, the green light process, casting, and more — including how women can create more opportunities for themselves and other women in our industry.
PGA, DGA, WGA, and Local 600 women (and a guild-eligible female guest) will have the opportunity to meet more working women in order to hire them on productions and raise the number of women working behind the scenes in our industry. Connecting our guilds gives us power to make progress more quickly, and doing so over great food, drink and networking will make for an impactful and enjoyable event.
So come listen to Gale Anne Hurd, meet your fellow guild professionals, and join the conversation.
Please note:This invite is for all women in PGA, DGA, WGA, and Local 600 plus a fellow female guest. We would like to ask that if you bring a guest or share this invite with a friend, that she is either in a guild, Local 600 or an eligible guild member.
*Parking is in front of the building as well as along the east side and rear of the building. The east side and rear parking is accessed via the second driveway.
Gale Anne Hurd is one of the industry’s most respected film and television producers. In 1984, Hurd produced and co-wrote her first feature film, The Terminator. This success was quickly followed by Aliens, which received seven nominations and two Academy Awards®, followed by the Academy Award®-winning films The Abyss, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, and The Ghost and the Darkness. Her resume also includes many genre classics, like Tremors, Armageddon, The Incredible Hulk and Æon Flux.
Hurd is an Executive Producer of The Walking Dead, the first series in history to reign as the most watched television drama in the 18 — 49 year old demographic for six consecutive years. She also serves as an Executive Producer of AMC’s companion series, Fear the Walking Dead, and a Consulting Producer on AMC’s top-rated talk show, Talking Dead. In addition, Hurd is an Executive Producer of Amazon’s original series, Lore, which is filming its second season in Prague.
On the film side, Hurd is currently producing a new horror feature, Hell Fest, for CBS Films to be released by Lionsgate in fall of 2018. She has also successfully crowdfunded her third Native American documentary, MANKILLER, which chronicles the extraordinary life of the first woman Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation, Wilma Mankiller. After winning awards at film festivals worldwide, including ‘Best of the Fest’ at the Palm Springs International Film Festival, MANKILLER premiered on PBS for Women’s History Month this past March.
In 2015, Hurd was awarded the prestigious David O. Selznick Award for Achievement in Motion Pictures by the Producers Guild of America. She is also the recipient of the 2015 Jaeger-LeCoultre ‘Glory to the Filmmaker’ Award from the 21st Annual Los Angeles Film Festival. And in 2012, Hurd received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
