STIFFS by Stuart Feldman
Everybody dies. But nobody handles the grim reality of constant death with more humor, irony, and humanity than the quirky group of city employees at the NYC Medical Examiner’s Office. A  workplace comedy set in the busiest (and craziest) morgue in the world.
A Santa Monica Police homicide detective suffers from a brain trauma that’s caused him to have “synesthesia,” a condition in which one type of sensory stimulation evokes the sensation of another sense. He solves homicides with the help of his partner, and the assistance of three seriously brain traumatized patients that live in the Institute of Neurological Disorder, where he also had lived for four years recovering after an explosion. The screenplay readings will be cast by Caroline Sinclair Casting and directed by WGAE member Jeffrey Hirschberg. WGAE President Michael Winship will introduce the evening and moderate interviews with both writers. A reception will follow the main event.
