2020 WGAE Council Election Results

NEW YORK, NY (September 17, 2020) – The Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE) today announced the results of its 2020 Council election.

The Council is the governing body of the Writers Guild of America, East, consisting of 19 members, plus the three officers (President, Vice President and Secretary-Treasurer). 

This year, there were ten (10) open Council seats, seven (7) Freelance and three (3) Staff. Freelance members work in screen, television and new media, and Staff members work in television, radio/audio and digital news shops under the Guild’s jurisdiction.

There were no Officer elections in 2020.

The terms for newly elected Council members will run for two years beginning September 18, 2020.

Elected as Freelance members on the Council: 

  • Monica Lee Bellais (i)
  • Lisa Takeuchi Cullen (i)
  • Kaitlin Fontana (i)
  • Gina Gionfriddo
  • A.M. Homes (i)
  • Erica Saleh
  • Michael Winship (i)

Elected as Staff members on the Council: 

  • Gail Lee (i)
  • Ashley Feinberg (i)
  • Kelly Stout (i)

“(i)” denotes incumbent

Votes were cast by 12.09% of eligible voters (6,208). The WGAE does not release numerical voting results. The ballot count was supervised by Votenet Solutions.
