CBS News 24/7 Union Reaches Tentative Agreement on New Contract
NEW YORK, NY (April 2, 2026)— Writers Guild of America East (WGAE) members at CBS News 24/7 reached a tentative agreement with CBS/Paramount management on a new three-year collective bargaining agreement Tuesday.
The 60-member CBS News 24/7 Union and the WGAE Council’s Broadcast/Cable/Streaming News sector representatives will vote to ratify the contract in the coming days. Full details of the agreement will be released upon ratification.
The tentative agreement follows a 24-hour walkout by members in New York City and San Francisco, a strike pledge signed by 95% of the unit, and over 3,000 solidarity letters sent to management from journalists and labor supporters across the industry.
