The Workshop: Frequently Asked Questions

Do I qualify to submit?

The vast majority of our membership doesn’t include women, people of color, or LQBTQIA individuals. We want to attract underrepresented as described in many reports on industry inclusion. The workshop seeks to correct this imbalance We ask that everyone apply mindful that the WGAE  is aware of the people not represented by the union. For more information about the requirements, go to www.wgaeast.org/theworkshop

Can I apply with a writing partner?

No.

Can I apply more than once?

An individual may only apply once.  If an applicant submits more than once, neither submission will be considered.

When and why do I register material?

All submitted material must be registered with WGAE Script Registration as it assists you in proving priority of ownership of your script.  Applicants will be able to register one script at a discounted cost Special instructions in the fellowship application explain how to register.  If your script is already registered, there is no need to take any further action; simply include your registration number when prompted on the application.

Do I need to include a letter of recommendation?

No, you don’t.  You simply note on the application which organization, and in some cases who in that organization has recommended you, and we will confirm with them.
