In this workshop, P. Kevin Strader will review:

  •  The elements of a pre-school bible
  •   Understanding the audience of viewers
  •   Developing the pilot
  •   The markets for children’s television and where to sell a show
  •   Answer questions about preschool educational television

P. Kevin Strader began writing for children at Sesame Workshop as Associate Editor of the Sesame Street Magazine. He then wrote and co-produced the long-running Jim Henson’s/Disney series Bear in the Big Blue House earning four Emmy nominations for Outstanding Children’s Series and Outstanding Writing. Kevin often found his way to shows that set standards in content and quality storytelling—like Blue’s Clues, The Upside Down Show, Bert and Ernie’s Great Adventures, Wonder Pets and Arthur for which he earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Writing in Animation. P. Kevin Strader’s headwriting credits include the Nick Jr. hit math show, Team Umizoomi, Jelly Jamm, Tickety Toc, and Becca’s Bunch, premiering on Nick Jr. in 2018. P. Kevin credits his growing up with 10 brothers and sisters as the greatest influence on his writing for kids.
