Join Larry J. Cohen, Aiha Nygen & Ed Zitron for a Zoom panel discussion about how to protect and empower writers against the use of Artificial Intelligence.

Aiha Nguyen is the Program Director for the Labor Futures Initiative at Data & Society where she guides research and engagement. She brings a practitioner’s perspective to this role having worked for over a decade in community and worker advocacy and organizing in Los Angeles. Her work contributes to shifting the debate towards worker-centered discussions and solutions. Aiha has conducted research on workplace monitoring and algorithmic management including the resulting privacy concerns of workers and changing labor conditions. She is author of The Constant Boss: Work Under Digital Surveillance and co-author of At the Digital Doorstep: How Customers Use Doorbell Cameras to Manage Delivery Workers. She is currently leading the initiative on a multi-year inquiry into Generative AI’s labor impacts which includes a series of public talks, recent publication of a primer, Generative AI and Labor: Power, Hype and Value at Work, and academic workshop.

Aiha has advised policy makers and institutions including members of Congress, state and federal legislative and regulatory bodies, National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, United Nations, and European Union Commission.
