Learn about The Writers Lab for Writers of Film and TV!
Join us for a virtual info session and connect live with New York Women in Film & Television (NYWIFT) / Writers Lab staff to hear more about The Writers Lab and how to prepare your application.
The Writers Lab is a development workshop that gives writers identifying as women over the age of 40 the opportunity to work intensively on their feature film scripts or episodic pilots with the support of established writers, directors, and producers.
The Writers Lab selects 12 promising writers each year, from a competitive pool of submissions, to work with accomplished women mentors from the film industry. Participants spend four days at a retreat outside New York City working on their projects and their craft in one-on-one sessions with mentors and gaining valuable tools and information in panels and workshops to achieve success for their projects and their careers.
The seventh annual Writers Lab retreat will take place in the fall, and for the first time will include pilot writers in addition to feature writers. With demand for content from diverse voices skyrocketing, the Lab expands its call this year to include pilot scripts as well as narrative features.
