A virtual training about student loans, geared toward WGA members' options for managing their loans while striking.
The Student Borrower Protection Center (SBPC), a national policy organization focused on student debt and consumer protection, will provide a virtual training about student loans, geared toward WGA members’ options for managing their loans while striking.
Panelists from the SBPC will include Winston Berkman-Breen, Deputy Director of Advocacy & Policy Counsel, and Amy Czulada, Outreach & Advocacy Manager.
The training will cover the resumption of federal student loan payments this fall after over three years of suspended payments, the availability of affordable, income-based repayment options, and options for borrowers during periods of unemployment. The training will also include an overview of President Biden’s proposed debt relief program, which is currently before the U.S. Supreme Court, and for which a decision is expected by late June.
There will be time for live Q&A at the end of the presentation.
