The Writers Guild negotiates and enforces the terms of the Minimum Basic Agreement (MBA) on behalf of its members.

The MBA is the union contract that sets the industry standard for writers’ wages, benefits, credits, residuals, creative rights and working conditions int the entertainment industry.  It is negotiated every three years with major studios/producers who make up the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), and it must be followed by all WGA signatory companies.
