Matt Bai in Conversation with Beau Willimon
The Writers Guild of America, East is heading to the District of Columbia for a night of mixing and mingling for journalists and screenwriters.
WGAE President Beau Willimon (THE FIRST, HOUSE OF CARDS) will interview Matt Bai (THE FRONT RUNNER), a journalist and screenwriter, marking the first of a series of events featuring members with pens in both jars.
Bai is a political reporter for Yahoo! News, and has previously written for The New York Times, Boston Globe and Newsweek. His first book, “The Argument,” was named a New York Times Notable Book for 2007. Bai’s second book, “All the Truth Is Out: The Week Politics Went Tabloid,” follows the salacious media story of Gary Hart’s 1987 run for President. Bai adapted “All the Truth Is Out” for the screen with screenwriter Jay Carson and writer-director Jason Reitman. The movie, titled THE FRONT RUNNER, stars Hugh Jackman, Vera Farmiga and J.K. Simmons and will be released in theatres nationwide on November 7, 2018.
The interview portion of the evening will last approximately 45-minutes, preceded and followed by ample time for our DC-based members to get to know one another.
