Undeliverables

Undeliverable Residuals and other MBA payments

A small percentage of the payments made to writers and their heirs are returned to the Guild unclaimed. The Guild makes every effort to locate the lawful recipient, and until it does so holds the money in an Undeliverable Funds trust account.

The Guild distributes residuals and other MBA payments (such as character payments or settlements of legal claims) to writers and their heirs.

A small percentage of the payments are returned to the Guild unclaimed. The Guild makes every effort to locate the lawful recipient. Until that happens, the Guild holds the money in an Undeliverable Funds trust account.

The Writers Guild of America West operates this program on behalf of both the WGA East and the WGA West. The Undeliverable Residuals website allows you to search the list of individuals for whom the Guild is holding funds.

The system will display all matches. If you wish to claim any of the displayed projects, then you may print a claim form and mail it, along with the necessary documentation, to the WGAW Finance Department for processing. Be advised that the list is continually updated and new names are added each month.

If you have questions about Residuals, contact Residuals Administrator Elaine Lindsay at (212) 767-7814 or via email.

If you have questions about the Undeliverable Residuals program, you may call the WGAW’s Finance Department at (323) 782-4637 or email WGAW Finance.

Note: This list does not include funds collected as part of the Guild’s Foreign Levies program. Information on Foreign Levies can be found here.
