The Writers Guild of America Artists’ Manager Basic Agreement (“AMBA”) is the franchise agreement which governs the relationship between WGA members and talent agencies. After months of member outreach, the WGAW Board and WGAE Council have voted unanimously to reopen the Guilds’ 42-year-old agency agreement.
The industry in which we work is constantly evolving and the credits rules must periodically be updated. That happens through amendments to the Credits Manuals. All such amendments must first be approved by the WGAW Board of Directors and WGAE Council, and then by a majority vote of the combined memberships of the two Guilds.
