(Oct 13) Picket & Protest at the INK MASTER Live Finale

The Guild represents the writer-producers on the hit tattoo show INK MASTER, but the company (Original Media) refuses to negotiate an agreement with us. Join your fellow Guild members and tell Original it’s time to ink a deal at a picket and protest at the INK MASTER Live Finale on Tuesday, October 13th from 7-9pm.


(Oct 15) Final Draft Training

On October 15th, the WGAE will host training session for the latest version of Final Draft. Final Draft 9 has been updated with dozens of new writing and production features. This demo will be geared toward the current Final Draft user but will cover enough basics that the new Final Draft user will have no problems following along.


(Oct 20-22) NYC Television Week

The WGAE is a partner of the third annual NYC Television Week, which takes place on October 20-22, 2015. The conference offers education, information and networking for people in broadcast, cable, advertising and technology companies serving the industry. WGA members get a 20% discount on conference passes.

On October 20th, join the WGAE for a lunchtime interactive workshop with career coach Jim Arnoff that will teach you the skills to take control of your negotiating, how to maximize your results and the best strategies to get what you really want. Hear the agent’s tips on being centered, confident and persuasive throughout the negotiating.

The WGAE is proud to support #BinderCon, a professional development conference for women and gender non-conforming writers that takes place at various venues in New York City on November 7th and 8th. Programming includes keynote conversations with Lizz Winstead, Danielle Paige and Adrian Nicole LeBlanc, a panel on Diversity in Late Night TV writing and networking opportunities.


(Nov 12) It Starts With Story (NAB Content & Communications World at Javits Center)

The WGAE will present a panel at NAB’s Content and Communications World at the Javits Center on Novembre 11th. The panel, IT STARTS WITH STORY, will feature Tom Jennings (PBS FRONTLINE), Ingrid Jungermann (F TO 7TH) and Josh Poole (Above Average) discussing how writers are adapting to the shifts in the industry.
