UPDATED: Writers Guild of America, East Announces Candidates for 2010 Council Election

There are 10 open Council seats (six Freelance seats and four Staff seats) for this election. The 20 candidates for the six open Freelance seats are: Andrew Bergman, Robert Levi, Israel Horovitz, David Steven Cohen, Tom Jennings, Leslie Nipkow, Jeremy Pikser, John Auerbach, Susane Lee, Elizabeth Page, Walter Bernstein, Terry George, Richard Vetere, Bernardo Ruiz, Jerome Coopersmith, Gina Gionfriddo, Richard Wesley, Julian Sheppard, and Jenny Lumet.

The 11 candidates for the four open Staff seats are:  David Keller, Cath Twohill, Ted Schreiber, Kathy McGee, Armando Norat, Brian Morgan, Marta Gibbons, Julia Yoler, and Art Daley.

WGAE members may vote by mail or in person at the annual membership meeting on September 16, 2010.  

The Writers Guild of America, East, AFL-CIO, is a labor union representing writers in motion pictures, television, cable, digital media, and broadcast news. The WGAE conducts programs, seminars, and events on issues of interest to, and on behalf of, writers. In addition, it represents writers’ interests on the legislative level. 

# # #Notes:*    The order of listing candidates is determined by current members, with one member drawing candidates’ names by lot, a second member transcribing the order, and a third acting as witness.
