WRITERS GUILD OF AMERICA, EAST ADDS SEEMAN AND MOLITO TO GUILD’S LEADERSHIP TEAM

NEW YORK CITY , September 29, 2008 – The Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE) has added two senior people to the Guild’s leadership team: Marsha Seeman and Justin Molito. Both begin at the WGAE this week. They join WGAE Executive Director Lowell Peterson and Assistant Executive Director Ruth Gallo as part of the Guild’s management team.

Marsha Seeman rejoins the WGAE as Assistant Executive Director. She last worked for the WGAE from 1991 – 1997, when she was manager of programs and services, responsible for the WGAE’s events, elections, member services, publications, and communications. After leaving the Guild, Seeman produced two short films, In A Blue Mood and The Getaway, and consulted for several non-profit organizations.

Justin Molito joins the WGAE as Director of Organizing. Most recently, he was director of strategic campaigns for the Transport Workers Union of America, where he directed all aspects of the effort to organize 7,700 Continental Airline employees. Prior to that, Molito was a lead organizer and area organizing director for AFSCME, as well as an organizer for SEIU International and the United Food and Commercial Workers Union.

"We are very pleased that Marsha and Justin are joining the Guild," said Lowell Peterson, WGAE Executive Director. "Marsha’s prior experience working with the union and her strong commitment to the Guild’s mission and its members will enable her to play a vital part of our internal management structure. Justin, with his depth of experience in many industries, brings a strategic focus and new energy to spearhead our efforts to represent more writers in more key parts of our industries. They will both be great assets to the Guild and our members."
