Seth Meyers, Ilana Glazer, Robert Carlock, Amber Ruffin and 600+ WGAE film and television writers petition G/O Media in support of the Onion Inc Union
NEW YORK AND CHICAGO (December 21, 2020) — More than 600 film and television writers signed a petition to support fellow Writers Guild of America, East members at Onion, Inc – which is composed of The Onion, The A.V. Club, The Takeout, Onion Labs, and Onion Inc.’s video and art departments, and Deadspin – whose contract with G/O Media expires at the end of the year.
Onion, Inc’s union account tweeted the petition out today at noon.

As members of the Writers Guild of America, East, we stand with our fellow members at The Onion, Deadspin, The A.V. Club, and The Takeout as they bargain their contract, which expires December 31, 2020.
As union members working in the film and television industry, we have seen time and again how solidarity wins real gains for working people, and we support our fellow members at The Onion brands as they work to build on the strong provisions in their existing contract.
As they show their commitment to their co-workers, their work, and to the brands that they have built and love, we stand with them in solidarity.
