Boston University — Assistant Professor of Film & Television, Television Writing (Drama)

Full-time Faculty Position in Writing for Film and Television – Fall 2021

The Department of Film and Television at Boston University’s College of Communication is seeking an Assistant Professor, non-tenure track, in the area of writing for Film and Television with an emphasis on scripted television drama. Qualified applicants should have professional experience writing for film or television as well as experience teaching film or television writing at the university level.  An ideal candidate will have an MFA or advanced degree in screenwriting or in a related field.

Position Duties

Duties require teaching three courses per semester, at the undergraduate and graduate level. Possible courses would include offerings in the Television writing curriculum such as Writing One-Hour Drama or Writing Television Pilots or in the Film writing curriculum such as Writing the Feature Film or Writing the Short.  Department faculty are also encouraged to propose and develop new courses in their field of expertise.
