Assistant Professor of Professional Practice in Film
Field of Specialization: Screenwriting & Television Writing
Columbia University School of the Arts seek to fill the position of Assistant Professor of Professional Practice specializing in screen and television writing, to teach graduate level courses to Master of Fine Arts candidates effective July 1, 2019. The School seeks to attract candidates who have had professional experience in the film and television industries, as well as teaching experience, preferably at the graduate level. The ideal candidate will have professional experience working in and teaching both feature film screenwriting and television writing. Experience working in new media is also a plus.
Candidates for Assistant Professor of Professional Practice of the Arts must have a demonstrated capacity for creative work and exhibit the potential for continuing to make significant contributions to their areas of professional practice and accompanying pedagogy.
Salary and rank commensurate with experience.
Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required.
Minimum Qualifications: B.A.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree or equivalent experience as well as Graduate and Undergraduate teaching experience preferred for all candidates.
