(April 30) Storytelling Master Class with Alexander Dinelaris
Learn about the craft of storytelling from screenwriter and playwright Alexander Dinelaris, an Academy Award and Golden Globe winner for the screenplay of BIRDMAN (OR THE UNEXPECTED VIRTUE OF IGNORANCE). Alex will share glimpses of his own process, war stories, strategies and sources of inspiration.

Join the Writers Guild of America, East and Color Of Change for a candid conversation about criminal justice and mass incarceration at the intersection of media, television, film and social justice issues.
(May 9) COME SUNDAY screening + Q&A w/ Marcus Hinchey
Internationally renowned evangelist Carlton Pearson risks his church, family and future when he questions church doctrine. Preaching that there is no hell, he finds himself branded a heretic and ostracized from his own church. With a screenplay by Marcus Hinchey, COME SUNDAY was inspired by an unforgettable story broadcast on public radio’s This American Life with Ira Glass that was reported by Russell Cobband produced by Alex Blumberg.
(May 10) “Made in NY” Media Summit
On Thursday, May 10th, MOME will be hosting the first-ever “Made in NY” Media Summit in Harlem. The Media Summit will be a constellation of several industry-facing events produced by MOME in partnership with several NYC-based cultural and media organizations. Held at the National Black Theatre, the day-long Media Summit will feature industry talks for New Yorkers interested in working in or with the media and entertainment industry.
(May 22) Pitch Practice Makes Perfect
Hone your pitch with the help of experienced producers. In front of a live audience of Writers Guild members, up to ten writers will have the opportunity to pitch producers Ilan Arboleda, Blair Breard, Alex Cirillo, Dana Kuznetzkoff and Rashidi Hendrix. Each writer will be given constructive feedback and advice on moving their project forward.
