The Walter Kaitz Foundation has partnered with Film Life to help build and promote diversity in television and film by generating a new and innovative program for its 18th annual American Black Film Festival (ABFF), which is sponsored by Writers Guild of America, East.

Kicking off the four-day ABFF in New York’s Chelsea district, the Walter Kaitz Foundation is launching the Hollywood Creative Forum – East geared toward diverse writers and producers of scripted content. This inaugural program will provide critical information for diverse writers and writer/ producers to succeed in television and foster relationships between established showrunners and writing talent from the realm of film, television and theater.

The event will kick off with a panel comprised of executives who oversee some of the industry’s leading new writer programs, followed by a structured luncheon that continues the dialogue, helping participants craft successful writing and producing careers in television. The program will conclude with an innovative panel designed to explore the key elements of the decision-making process: Pass – Consider – Buy!
